Parrot Island Class Action Settlement Information
On or about April 20th, 2021 the ticketing system software at Parrot Island Waterpark was upgraded and sales tax was collected in excess of allowed amount. As a result, inappropriate sales tax was collected on all tickets sold until November 30th, 2023.
When this was discovered, it was immediately corrected and all funds collected inappropriately throughout the affected period were set aside. An interpleader class action suit was filed to allow for returning funds to the patrons of the waterpark if possible.
In an effort to find all possible patrons who paid this tax in error, this site has been created.
Patrons of the waterpark during the affected period have two options regarding the class action and the funds incorrectly collected.
- File a successful claim and receive a check for their portion of the set aside funds. (9.5% of the ticket price)
- Do nothing and forfeit their rights to any part of the proceeds.
